Insights and best practices from our national portfolio of SEND, SEMH, Secure Children’s Homes and CAMHS
Specialist Training
We partner with local and national specialists including the Brandon Trust and First Look SEN to develop bespoke training modules for our design and build teams, ensuring they understand the individual requirements of the end users of the buildings we create. It's these little things that make a difference to the quality of what we deliver.
Knowledge sharing
We bring together experts from our Inclusive Environments team to share their experience and expertise, reviewing future opportunities and identifying how they can work even better for building users.
Kier has seven inclusion networks, including the Kier Ability Network.
We have committed Kier teams who are designing and delivering schemes as part of the network. Our teams undergo training, learn from lived experiences and share findings together and for the benefit of our clients.
In partnership with First Look SEN, Kier Construction has developed a SEND and ALN passport to upskill Kier teams, our trusted supply chain partners, and consultants.
Our aim is to raise awareness of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and Additional Learning Needs (ALN), ensuring we make a difference throughout the design process by promoting true inclusion with end users at the heart of everything we do.
We are dedicated to understanding, including, and involving the children and young people for whom this infrastructure is being built. Our goal is to create the best learning environments, leaving a legacy of positive change and ensuring every child has the opportunity to thrive in their new surroundings.
